Paget Rangers progressed to the quarter finals of the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup at the expense of divisional rivals Coventry Copsewood after a dramatic penalty shootout at Coles Lane.
Paget started the brighter and were finally rewarded for their endeavour when Ross Dempster put the Bears ahead on 43 minutes.
The scores were level in the 58th minute when Copsewood substitute Frankie Baigent raced clear to fire the ball home.
Paget regained their lead in the 64th minute when Ross Dempster grabbed his second goal of the game.
Paget had numerous chances to kill the game off but were punished for their profligacy in front of goal when Frankie Baigent scored a stunning 77th minute free kick which ultimately sent the game to penalties.
Paget substitute Jem Mills missed the Bears’ first spot kick however two saves from the Bears’ ‘keeper Conal Dowling in the shootout was sufficient to see the Bears through to the next round.
