Match Report: Paget Rangers 1-3 Littleton

New look Littleton side grab vital three points at the Bears' expense

Paget Rangers succumbed to a new look Littleton side, as a brace from Daniel Holloway and a goal from Cameron Walker were enough to give the visitors all three points.

Littleton had the first chance to take the lead when a Conal Dowling clearance landed at the feet of Jade Ferron, whose weak long shot didn’t trouble the Bears’ number one. Moments later Ferron forced Dowling to make a good save to keep the score goalless.

Minutes later Fraiser Doyle speculative volley preceded an ambitious long range shot, which both failed to trouble the Littleton goalkeeper.

In the 14th minute the Ton opened the scoring when Joel Ambalu’s cross from the right-hand side low drive was missed by the Paget defence before being sent into the net by Walker.

Ambalu then missed a handful of chances to double the visitors’ lead, whilst Michael Wright missed chances to equalise for the Wee Gers, as the score remained 1-0 to the Ton going into the break.

It didn’t take long for the Bears to equalise following the break, a bit of luck saw the ball land at the feet of Doyle and with the Littleton goalkeeper far off his line the Paget midfielder floated the ball into the goal.

A number of chances for the Bears followed but it was Littleton who would take the lead, for the second time when Holloway headed in with less than 15 minutes to go. Just minutes later Holloway put Littleton further in front when he sent the ball in off the post.

Late appeals for a Paget penalty were waved away in the dying minutes, after John Flanagan was bundled down in the box.
